Sometimes the destination of a cruise isn’t the most important thing : this year thousands of music fans are expected to attend NCL’s popular music cruises, where the main attraction is the on-board concerts. Attending music-themed sailings is becoming more and more popular. As luck would have it, there’s still plenty of time to book a 2014 NCL music cruise. Here’s at peek at a bit of what’s in store, for the rest of the year…
KISS Kruise IV
If you love Kiss, you won’t want to miss the fourth annual KISS Kruise (http://www.thekisskruise.com) on the Norwegian Pearl. Sailing from Miami on October 31st, ports of call include Great Stirrup Cay (the cruise line’s private island) and Nassau. A rockin’ pre-party, with special guest Cheap Trick, is scheduled for October 30th.
Are you a die-hard fan? If so, you actually get the chance to see KISS perform twice, while on the cruise. Plan on attending a general admission show on Great Stirrup Cay and an indoor show at the Stardust Theater.
In addition to both concerts, you are also eligible to attend a KISS Q&A session and to get your picture taken with the band. It’s a four night cruise that you’ll never forget!
It should be noted that, as with any other NCL cruise, the following is NOT included:
- gratuities ($12 per person/per day)
- casino gambling
- spa services
- alcoholic beverages
- carbonated beverages and bottled water
- cover charge at specialty restaurants
- airfare and transfers
- shore excursions
GRAMMY Festival at Sea
If you love ‘women who rock’, make reservations on the Norwegian Pearl for this first ever concert of the same name. (http://www.grammyfestivalatsea.com/) Departing from Miami on November 4th, the four-night cruise features headliners that include Heart, Emmylou Harris, the Indigo Girls, Shawn Colvin and more!
In addition to the concert festivities, you also have the chance to interact live with the bands and take part in two theme night celebrations. One of these celebrations is a Grammy party, where you can dress like a star and, of course, have the time of your life.
The two ports of call on the cruise are Nassau and Grand Bahama Island, both offering a variety of shore excursions for an additional cost.
Also worth mentioning, in regard to this particular sailing, is the Independent Traveler Program. It allows solo travelers, 21 years of age and older, to book at single occupancy rate for a double occupancy cabin. This is a real money saver!
At such time the ITP fills up, each passenger will be contacted to see if they have found a friend to travel with them. If they have, the friend receives the same rate. If they have not, cabin mates of the same sex and age range will be paired up for the trip. It’s a great way to make a new friend for life!
